Panthers top defenseman Aaron Ekblad sustained a lower body injury for the third season in a row, placing him on LTIR. Sources say it is a Grade 2 groin strain, requiring approximately 6 weeks of recovery time.
The injury came during the Panthers loss on Monday October 17 against the Boston Bruins. He went down in the second period and was out for the remainder of the game.
Defenseman Brandon Montour is also out with an upper body injury. We have recalled Matt Kiersted and Lucas Carlsson from the AHL.
We wish both Ekblad and Montour a speedy recovery and can’t wait to see them back on the ice.
